The Cleveland County Detention Center was opened in 1984.
The Detention Center contains the jail as well as the
Sheriff's Office. The Detention Center is a self-contained
facility with full kitchen and laundry services. It is
a 139 bed facility, along with a training room, non-contact
visitation rooms, and private attorney rooms.
The
Detention Division is staffed by Captain Ed Miller
and is located on the bottom, second and third floors
of the Detention Center. The Division employs personnel
including Detention Deputies, Medical Staff, Food Service
Supervisor, and clerks.
The
Detention Division is responsible for housing County,
State, Federal, and Municipal inmates for all of Cleveland
County. All Municipalities and most State agencies operating
in Cleveland County house their prisoners at the Cleveland
County Jail.
Detention
Deputies are responsible for the safety, security, and
day-to-day needs of inmates as well as the safety of employees.
